Welcome to

Little Glasgow Lofts

Setting the Standard for Working Type Horseman Thief Pouters in the United States

An assortment of pouter breeds are used to create individual strains of Horseman Thief Pouters.  The particular strain of Horseman Thief Pouter developed at Little Glasgow Lofts was created using a high percentage of thief pouter breeds of Spanish origin.  That cue was taken from a few brilliant Horseman breeders in the UK who have also utilized Spanish breeds in their Horseman breeding programs.  As a result of their Spanish background, my birds have very seductive personalities, combined with with a high drive to court, woo, and bring pigeons back to their lofts. They are the only strain of Horseman thief pouters in the US being worked in the Miami thief pouter circuit where thief pouters compete against other thief pouters. Little Glasgow Lofts produces only true working type Horseman Thief Pouters bred with traditional priorities in mind (performance comes first).  If you want an exhibition type Horseman, bred to a show standard you will not find them here.  There is a good reason breeders of competitive racing homers don't breed to a show standard.  Breeders of working type thief pouters share the same thoughts on the idea of applying a show standard to a bird that is bred specifically for performance.  If you want high quality Horseman Thief Pouters bred specifically for the breed's traditional working purposes then you've come to the right place.

Here's a sampling of what others have to say about the Horseman Thief Pouters from Little Glasgow Lofts:

From Scotland:

"In years to come they will be talking about Will Brown's Doos just like Auld Andy kelly's Doos." (The late Andy Kelly developed his own strain of legendary Horseman in Scotland by crossing several different breeds.)

"As for your birds I would be a very pleased man to have them.  I am from Glasgow and your birds would thief, you can see it in them."

From the US:

"Will's birds . . are physically expressive.  They clap harder when they fly. Their coos have a different tone (for some reason all the hens like it ).  Make no mistake about it, they have the x factor in them. They fly hard they have a very nice seductive behavior.  They work the (other) birds nicely."

WARNING

I have been contacted by two different individuals who have been offered sale birds that were said to be of my breeding.  A quick check of band numbers showed that they were NOT birds from Little Glasgow Loft.  Every band number of every bird that leaves my lofts is recorded.  If in doubt about any bird you are offered that is said to be of my breeding, please don't hesitate to contact me.
