Setting the Standard for Working Type Horseman Thief Pouters in the United States
An assortment of pouter breeds are used to create individual strains of Horseman Thief Pouters. The particular strain of Horseman Thief Pouter developed at Little Glasgow Lofts was created using a high percentage of thief pouter breeds of Spanish origin. That cue was taken from a few brilliant Horseman breeders in the UK who have also utilized Spanish breeds in their Horseman breeding programs. As a result of their Spanish background, my birds have very seductive personalities, combined with with a high drive to court, woo, and bring pigeons back to their lofts. They are the only strain of Horseman thief pouters in the US being worked in the Miami thief pouter circuit where thief pouters compete against other thief pouters. Little Glasgow Lofts produces only true working type Horseman Thief Pouters bred with traditional priorities in mind (performance comes first). If you want an exhibition type Horseman, bred to a show standard you will not find them here. There is a good reason breeders of competitive racing homers don't breed to a show standard. Breeders of working type thief pouters share the same thoughts on the idea of applying a show standard to a bird that is bred for performance.
